This kind of executive order would gag all health care providers from giving complete information to their patients – from even using the word abortion – if they receive funding through the Title X program. It would impact Planned Parenthood patients and health care clinics across the country.
A domestic gag rule has never happened before in the United States and would be a radical change threatening health care for millions of people. Title X, which was started by the Nixon administration and has enjoyed bi-partisan support throughout its history, serves four million people each year with basic health care.
